f4 Polish Halloween Part 3

Here are the last three f4 Polish Halloween lacquers!

First is Boo To You! filled with black and orange hex glitters and black diamond glitter in a clear base.  Here I have two layers over three layers of OPI Candlelight.  I love the way this looks.

Here I layered a coat of Deborah Lippmann Yellow Brick Road to make a jelly sandwich.

Next I have Hocus Pocus, a mix of black, green and purple glitters with some holographic glitter.  This is two coats over two coats of Orly Decades of Dysfunction.

And, finally I have Monster Mash a clear base with green medium hex, purple large hex and black micro matte glitters.  I used two coats over one coat of Milani White On The Spot, then topped it with a matte finish.

Boo To You! was my least favorite until I applied it, now it is my favorite.  This was a great collection with really good formulas.  There are still some colors on the f4 Polish etsy site, get them while you can!

Dollish Polish Vampire's Coven

Here is the lovely Vampire's Coven from Dollish Polish.  This is a purple and red glitter in black jelly base.

I built this up with four coats, but I will layer it next time.  The Dollish Polish This Is Halloween collection was fantastic.  They were all complex and fun glitters.  I can't wait to see what's next.

China Glaze Wicked Immortal, Roguish Red & Make A Spectacle

Here is the last of the China Glaze Wicked Halloween collection.

Roguish Red is a bright red orange, I used two coats.

Immortal is a grey with blue undertones and purplish shimmer.  This is a really pretty color.  I used two coats as well.

The final polish is Make A Spectacle a gorgeous iridescent hex glitter and flakie topcoat. I applied two coats over Immortal.

This entire collection can be worn year round, and I would suggest picking it up before they're gone.

Witches-This Is Halloween Challenge

This post is so late!  Between parties and stressing out over hurricane preparedness I didn't post this one on time.  I also am not the biggest fan of how this came out.  I decided to try making some witch wart nails.

I used two coats of OPI Don't Talk Bach To Me, then I sponged on spots of China Glaze Winter Holly and Milani Black Magic.  I painted some sticky backed rhinestones from a cheap Walgreens Halloween kit with OPI Live And Let Die and attached them.  This was not what I was going for, but I had 30 minutes to paint and shoot a picture before we left for a party.  The colors and painting method need to change, but the rhinestones worked for the bumbs.

Pretty & Polished Them Bones and Witchy Woman

I am going to try to get all the rest of the Halloween polish posts out in the next couple of days, provided I don't lose power from Hurricane Sandy!

Here is the last two colors from the Pretty & Polished Halloween collection.

Them Bones is a black jelly with various white matte glitter pieces that represent a deconstructed skeleton.

I love this polish!  This was three coats for full opacity.

Next is Witchy Woman a purple jelly shimmery base with purple, green and black glitter mixed.

This was two coats of Witchy Woman. You can buy Pretty & Polished here.  This was an amazing collection for Halloween, I cannot pick a favorite between Blood Clot, Them Bones and Candy Corn.  This collection played with depth, hues and color changing to give a unique spin to traditional Halloween colors and imagery.

China Glaze Glitter Goblin and Bizarre Blurple

Here are two more polishes from the China Glaze Wicked Halloween collection.

First is Bizarre Blurple, the name perfectly describes this color.

Bizarre Blurple
I wasn't too excited for this color, but I loved it once it was on the nail.  This is two coats of Bizarre Blurple.

Next is Glitter Goblin, I love a Halloween glitter bomb!  I used three coats.

Glitter Goblin in the shade.
Glitter Bomb has orange micro glitter, it looks like there is silver and holographic glitter as well!  This is an amazing polish.  The next picture is a little out of focus, so you can see it shining.

There are still a few more colors in this collection that will be posted soon.

Enchanted Polish - Pumpkin Gutz!

Today I have Pumpkin Gutz from Enchanted Polish's Falloween collection.  The Falloween polishes are available at Llarowe, but you should add Enchanted Polish on facebook to find out the restock schedule.

Pumpkin Guts is a really pretty (like all Enchanted Polish) black, orange and green mixed shape glitter in a clear base.  I didn't notice the green at first, that was a surprise for later!  This is two coats of Pumpkin Guts over two coats of Butter London Yummy Mummy.

The formula was really nice on this, the glitter came out easily, but the large black hex glitter was a little bit harder to get, but not bad at all!

Now it's time to go carve my pumpkin!

Gradient This Is Halloween Challenge Day 22

Today is Gradient day for the This Is Halloween challenge.

I'm not very enthusiastic about this manicure, but here it is.  We have Zoya Jancyn, Cynthia Rowley fluorescent pink (they came in a set without any name indicators) and Milani Black Magic.  I painted the orange on first, sponged the pink on, then sponged the black on last.  This process was reversed for the accent nail.  I, then, put one coat of Sephora by OPI It's Real 18k Gold Top Coat.

There it is.  I did get a bunch of compliments on it today.

Bauhaus Bats This Is Halloween Challenge Day 19

It's Bat day for the This Is Halloween Challenge started by Bec @ Lacquer Dreams. I had to go to Bauhaus and the Bela Lugosi's Dead cover, on my thumb at least.

For my thumb, I have a coat of Milani White On The Spot, I used Kiss nail art pens in black and silver to draw in the small details and lines. I painted the tip with Milani Black Magic and also used that to sponge in the color on the wings.

My index finger is three coats of China Glaze Glistening Snow, a beautiful silver holographic from the Holiday Joy Collection for Holiday 2012 and a tip of Black Magic. I made some bats out of different texture and glitter cardstock with a Studio G punch and attached one here. My middle finger is two coats of Black Magic, a tip of Man Glaze The Death Tar, and two more bats.

The ring finger is one coat of White On The Spot, then newsprint technique (directions are at the end of the post if you don't know how to do it) with paper that I printed.  It has "undead undead undead" in Bauhaus font, these are lyrics from Bela Lugosi's Dead.

The pinkie is three coats of Layla Hologram Effect in Flash Black (tip for Hologram polishes like this: use Sally Hansen Insta-Dry as a base and as a coat in between the normal coats and you don't have to use the recommended file and you won't get bald spots) and one more bat for the tip.

There is a lot of different stuff going on in this manicure, but that is what I envisioned before starting.

Newsprint Manicure Instructions:
1. Paint your nails a light color.
2. Let them dry completely! This is why Milani White On The Spot and Black Magic are my go to undercoats, they, if applied carefully, go on in one coat and dry really fast.
3. Take the part of the newspaper that you want to transfer to the nail and put it on top of the polish.
4. Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and press on the other side of the newspaper.
5. Press down firmly on the entire nail for a few seconds.
6. Apply topcoat.

That's all until the next Halloween manicure!

F4 Polish Halloween Spam

I couldn't get Google or Blogger to upload my photos yesterday, so I was unable to post a blog!  Today, I have a few f4 Polish Halloween selections for you.

First up is Nightmare Forest.  This is two coats of Nightmare Forest over two coats of Zoya Natty.

f4 Polish describes Nightmare Forest as, "a clear base with green and orange matte glitters, black shreds and purple micro slices."

I really love this combination of colors.  The application of all of these f4 Polishes apply smoothly and all the different glitter comes out effortlessly.

Next up is Glitter Goblin, a mix of micro green glitters in a clear base.  This is two coats layered over two coats of Zoya Charisma.

Lastly is Krazy Korn, multi sized orange, white and yellow glitter in a clear base.  This is two coats paired over two coats of OPI A-Rose From The Dead.

I have worn Krazy Korn twice and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Krazy Korn is one of my favorites of the collection.  A few more polishes will be posted soon, so check back.  f4 polish is available on etsy.

Zombies! This Is Halloween Day 15 Dawn Of The Dead

I can't believe how hard it is for me to pick the ideas for my challenges.  I get stuck every time!  I ended up going with George A. Romero's Dawn Of The Dead, one of my favorite zombie films.

I used Milani Black Magic, Nicole by OPI Paparazzi Don't Preach, OPI, La Paz-itively Hot Matte, and a Kiss nail art pen in silver.

The zombie head is the guy on the box cover of Dawn Of The Dead.

China Glaze Cast A Spell

Here is one of the China Glaze Wicked Halloween collection, Cast A Spell! This is a beautiful blackened green with gold shimmer. It felt like a hunter green version of Butter London Wallis.

Cast A Spell had amazing application. It has the potential to be a one coat color. I did two coats for this picture. This may be my favorite of this collection, I will have the others later this month.

Piggy Polish Lightmare

Okay, so this is my first Piggy Polish, but I always look at them at Ulta, they have some good colors, but nothing I don't already have. I found their Halloween polish and though Lightmare looked interesting.

It is, indeed interesting. It's an orange glitter mixed with a grayish-black glitter that almost looks like it has a lavender tint to it as well, when applied.

The color is quite stunning in the bottle and on the nail, but this was by far the worst formula I have ever worked with. I needed three, tedious coats to get the polish to full opacity, and it kept wanting to have bald spots.

It was so difficult I will probably never try another Piggy Polish glitter, though I will still give their creams a try at some point.

Please, let me know if you've had better luck with other colors or if you've tried this one!

Jack-O-Lanterns This Is Halloween Day 12

Today is Jack-O-Lantern day for the This Is Halloween Challenge.  Today I had a little bit of help with my manicure, my cat Pumpkinhead (named after one of my favorite movies) was close by the whole time!

I added the picture of the cat to distract from the uneven nostril marks on my jack-o-lantern face!  I didn't even notice 'til now for some reason.

This is three coats of OPI Hi, Pumpkin from the So So Skullicious mini set, it was really streaky.  I mixed some of that orange with Milani Black Magic to paint on the faint pumpkin ridge lines.

Dollish Polish There's Something Up With Jack

Here is another Dollish Polish This Is Halloween polish, There's Something Up With Jack!

I was lucky enough to find Sinful Colors Winterberry right before the pamphlets came out with the stolen blogger pictures and I started to boycott them.  I used two coats of Winterberry underneath two coats of There's Something Up With Jack.

There's Something Up With Jack has square and bar white glitter with multi shape and size bright blue glitter.  I think this polish is a good one for all the way though fall and winter and on trend.

I have one more polish from this collection coming soon.

Dollish Polish Spectral Pup

Tonight I have another one of the Dollish Polish This Is Halloween collection for you.  This is Spectral Pup, and besides the fact that it is an awesome and adorable glitter, this guy glows in the dark, like Zero!

This is three coats of Spectral Pup over two coats of OPI Mourning Glory.  Spectral Pup has white and orange glitter of various shapes and sizes.

And this is two coats of Spectral Pup over three coats of Essence Color & Go Sweet As Candy

And here it is in the dark!  This really glows, it doesn't even have to be in pitch black.  This is by far the best glow in the dark polish I have ever had.

Dollish Polish is available here, you can follow Dolly here, and it looks like Overall Beauty will have some This Is Halloween collection polishes in a grab bag, but only until Thursday 10/11, so I would suggest checking that out now!
